Good morning and happy Friday! Today for our Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge, we have a fun one going one! It is to make a thank you or Thanksgiving card and feature a sentiment. I haven't made a card this simple in a long time! But it was really fun, and quick, just what I needed for a quick note to a colleague.

I made the inside simple too, but just had to use some DP! :-)

A Deviation for Me--into Jewelry!

Hello! I went to a conference the other day, and on silent auction was this necklace and bracelet made by a lovely Seminole woman from Florida. I really though it was beautiful. Lucky lady who won the bid!

The bid went way past my budget (over $100,) so I decided on the way home that I'd make one for myself.

It isn't as pretty as the Seminole lady's version, but she's probably been making jewelry longer than I have!! I thought it turned out really nice, though. Well, more Fussy and Fancy Challenge Friday! Hope you'll visit me then too! Thanks for looking and happy stampin'! Lisa :-)

Fussy and Fancy DT Card--Halloween or Fall!

Hello and happy Friday! Today's Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge asks you to do a Halloween or Fall card! Well, I love to make Halloween cards, so here is my first one of the year! The image is from Bugaboo stamps, a digi, and the paper is from Basic Grey--one of my favorite paper companies!

I put the Glossy Accents on the "Boo" and Stickles on the cobweb. These stamps are from Hobby Lobby.

This time, I tried digi scrapbooking! I've made several pages over the last few weeks and have really enjoyed it. I have so many family photos it seems I can never keep up, but the digi scrapbooking seems to make it easier. Wondering how to get started in digi scrapbooking? I will share the forum that I found that has really helped me. It is called Gotta Pixel, and the ladies there are very friendly and helpful. Just make an account and hop on and introduce yourself. Hello and thank you for stopping by my blog today! Today over at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge, the challenge is Back to School! I love this time of year, it is even better than New Year's for me. I get to start over again along with my kiddos, and my college professor hubby. It's pretty much all-school all-the-time at our house!

For my card today, I used Basic Grey's Oxford papers and a new Magnolia stamp called Cool Edwin. I really love this stamp!

I also used the nifty brads from the Basic Grey Oxford collection. Very cool!

I've used a Stampavie stamp with my My Mind's Eye Gertie papers. To me, the primary colors say back to school, and when I think I back to school, I can't help but think of one-room school houses. These kids look like they've just finished their lunch from their lunch pails and are sharing their McGuffy's reader.

Sweet 'n' Sassy DT Project--A Sympathy Card

My First Ever Digi Scrapbook Page

Hello again! I wanted to share my first ever digi scrapbook page. Digi scrapbooking is something completely new to me, although I'm not new to Photoshop. Want to know how I got into it? Well, Juanita told me the other day she'd like to re-do the Fussy and Fancy blog design. And that was all it took. In the last 48 hours I have redesigned my blog and officially "gotten in" to digi scrapbooking. We're still looking for the right things to use for the FnF design, but in the meantime, I'm having a blast. Thanks, Juanita!! Really!

Anyway, I found this very nice sketch challenge blog for digi layouts called Pencil Lines, and so I tried their layout for this week and here is my entry! It probably isn't perfect, but as it is my first, I'm really pleased. And it was really fun! (Even though I do web design for a living; not sure what I'm doing playing on the computer on my day off?!)

Fussy and Fancy DT Card--A Sketch!

Hello and happy Friday again! It's time for another challenge over at Fussy and Fancy Friday! This time it is a lovely sketch by Graphiccat Designs.

My papers are from Jillibean Soup, and I had seen a few people color their images with pencils on Kraft paper. I think mine doesn't look as nice as when I do them on white paper--maybe I didn't color dark enough with my pencils. Oh well, I still love the paper and the stamp and the sketch, too!

The image is the Strawberry Tilda from the newest collection. And a couple of pix of the inside, etc.

Hello and I hope you're having a good day! Thank you for stopping by today! I made this card for the Creative Inspirations Challenge DT call. This is another challenge blog that I have just found and wish I'd found sooner! Their challenge this week is stitching. I tried a new idea (to me anyway) of machine applique with the zig zag stitch. It was really fun, and I think I'll try it again soon! Thanks for the inspiration, ladies!

I am once again playing with the lightbox my DD made, and this time I think I got better exposure with the Reveal light bulbs.

I used The #226 Birthday Tilda for this card, and Basic Grey paper from the Sweet Threads collection. The flowers are a mixture of ones from Michael's and from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I am also entering this card in The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge, which is shimmer and pearls this week. The photos don't quite capture it, but I used quite a lot of gimmer mist on the flowers and leaves.

The Sweet Stop

Hello and I hope you're having a great Saturday! Today I have a card for a new challenge that I just found today on Feline Playful. It is called Bling it On, and I wish I had learned about it sooner so I could have been playing all along! They are even having a DT call with this challenge, which I am entering with this card. This time, the challenge is Embossing, and so today I made this card using my Rose embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I followed the sketch from today's The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge.

I somehow have had the entire day to play and craft, so I've done a bit of experimentation. A few days ago my DD made a light box for one of her photography projects. I tried it out today for the first time. It really worked pretty well! I think I need to use Reveal light bulbs to get a more true color. But for now, I adjusted things in Photoshop. Baby steps, right?!

As a result of this new gizmo, I probably took WAY too many pictures. My apologies for that. . . :-)

Anyway, another experiment I tried was to make more of my own flowers. I've made them before, and I switch between using the ones from Prima or Wild Orchid Crafts and making my own.

For my image, I used the Brother and Sister stamp from Magnolia. One of my favorites! The papers are from Prima Marketing, the Madeline collection. The good news is. . .there are also beautiful but totally different papers on the back, so look for another card made with this paper (and it will be easy if you'll hit the follow button at the top of my blog!) I got it at the scrapbook store in Chantilly, VA recently. I am really wishing we had a store like that here in Northeast Arkansas.

Here are a few pix of the inside and the back. The papers inside aren't from Prima. I think they are K&Co. from last year. They match fairly well, though. A bit more embossing on the inside. . .

Another thing I've seen folks do on various blogs is to list or show the Copic markers they used to color their image. This is a good idea, but I must say I am a little surprised that I used so many. I'm also a little embarrased that I HAVE so many. I guess they just keep jumping in my shopping cart, is all I can say. That ever happen to you? Anyway, I enjoyed keeping track, so I may do this more often. Do you think it's helpful?

I used some beach-y paper that I bought at a scrapbook store in Virginia Beach last month. It was a really nice store. The owner said she buys every beach themed thing that she sees, and they did have a bunch! She said this set was brand new. Cute! Fussy and Fancy DT Card--Case a DT Member!

Hello! Today over at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge, the challenge is to CASE (which means, Copy and Share Everything) a DT Member! So, what the DT did was to make anything we liked, and then our challenge to you is to CASE one of us! For this challenge, I made a little recipe book out of a paper bag. I got the idea from a tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers. I get their Wednesday email newsletter, which always has something fun to try in the tutorial section. This was really simple to make, and could easily be a mini photo album or scrapbook. Or even a coupon book for a special someone. Lots of possibilites!

Here is one of the inside pages, the stamp set is from Stampendous, and there are small cards to write notes or other recipes tucked into the pocket. The other pages are pretty much the same, just changing the categories. It was fun and easy and pretty quick to make. Not as quick as a card, of course, but pretty quick!

Sweet 'n' Sassy DT Project--Anything But a Card!

Good morning and happy Friday! Today over at the Sweet n' Sassy Digi Challenge, we have a fun on for you: Anything But a Card! I love these challenges as it gets me doing something else, usually three dimensional. I altered this mailbox for a couple we know who is getting married. I'll be putting some $$$ inside!

I made my own sentiments, which you are welcome to download:

I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper, which is the Once Upon a Springtime collection from Graphic 45.

I just used scraps that I had and made a collage with them. I glued them on with the ModPodge, then, I put a layer of ModPodge over the top.

My Card for Magnolia Down Under

Hello everyone! I made a card with the Magnolia Down Under sketch challenge this week. I used the new Basic Grey papers that I bought at Scrapbooks Plus (http://scrapbooks-plus.com/) in Chantilly, Virginia when we were there last week. I think it is from the Hello Luscious collection. I also used some of my few remaining flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Time to order more, I think! :-) And of course one of my favorite Tildas, Tilda with Spring Bundler.

I hope you like it, I had fun making it and using the MDU sketch this week!

Happy Easter!

Good morning and happy Easter Sunday to all of you! One of my favorite things to do for Easter is to put baskets together for my kiddos. Every year, I think "oh this year I might just buy those pre-made baskets," but then, I see some cute things and buy those and some more cute things and buy those, and before I know it, I have more than I can fit in their basket! This year we are trying to reduce our sugar, so their candy was a chocolate bunny and Hershey's kisses. They seemed happy with that. Maybe next year no sugar at all? Probably not, they are kids!

Anyway, I made some cute Easter basket tags with a digi stamp for Sweet 'n' Sassy Stamps called Benjamin Bunny. You can get him here:

I think they turned out really cute, and the kids commented on them, too. So they must have made an impression. :-)

We are really changing our eating habits lately, trying to reduce sugar and grains, more veggies, etc. So no ham this year, I decided to make another of our favorite meals, blackened salmon, curried rice and asparagus. With some almond flour cupcakes for dessert. (I'm thinking about starting a food blog about all of this!) I think it will go well, and it's a quick meal to fix, so I won't be exhausted. Not too many leftovers, though, that's the trade-off!

My Card for Some More Challenges!

Hello and I hope you're having a great Sunday! We're having a lazy one today, just doing what we want, in preparation for the busy week ahead! I made this card and dug out my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I think I like these sometimes and sometimes not. Today I had fun building my bouquet with them. Might have even gotten a bit carried away! The gems are from Magnolia, and the charm is from my LLS. The paper is from the Once Upon a Springtime stack from Graphic 45. I just got this new stamp from All That Scraps. I have admired it for some time and finally caved and bought it! :-) I was thinking of getting some of the new Butterfly Dreams stamps. I like the Tilda with Bunny and some of the butterfly ones. Are you thinking of getting a few? Which ones do you like?

At my house, we're still celebrating Christmas, until the 6th of January--Epiphany, Twelfth Night. . . so my gift is a candle to light at night. I saw the basic idea over at Janiel's blog, and had to give it a try.

I hope you'll be inspired to try one too--the lady on the tutorial is right--use an inexpensive candle. I tried it on both a Hobby Lobby el-cheapo one and a on a candle from Pier One, and the el-cheapo one worked much better!

An Easel Card to Match My Altered CD Ornament

Good morning! I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday before Christmas! I'm finishing up a few little gifts for family. This one is for my DH's grandmother. I made the altered CD ornament earlier in the week, and decided to make a matching card for it. The card is also for the blue challenge over at the Outlaw Women Scrapbook Forum.

Fussy and Fancy Challenge DT--Show Us Some Snow!

Good morning and happy Friday! Today over at Fussy and Fancy Friday, the challenge is to make a project featuring Snow. We don't have any here in Northeast Arkansas at the moment, but I think conditions are favorable! Wouldn't it be great to have a snowy Christmas?!

My card today uses one of the Tildas from last year's Christmas collection and some My Mind's Eye paper I picked up the last time I was in little rock. The pearly snowflakes are actually buttons that were in the Christmas craft section at good ole Hobby Lobby. I just cut the shanks off of the backs with my nail clippers. I made the beaded hat pin, again with some really cool glass beads from Hobby Lobby. The pin is a corsage pin from their floral department. I colored Tilda with Copics--I didn't hold out the colors, but I colored her jacket with R30's and the flowers with the R20's.

I got the sketch and the idea to decorate the inside and the back from Lena Katrine, a cardmaker from Norway whose work I really admire. Lena Katrine decorates the inside and back of her cards in a similar theme as the front. I think it really makes a nicely put-together look for a special card. So, I tried her method on this card today.

Hello everyone! I made this card for the challenge over at Magnolia-licious. This time it is Pink, Blue and Green. I was hoping to eek out a Christmas card with those colors--and I think it turned out fantastic! Thanks for the inspiration, ladies!

My new Tilda with Lantern that I ordered from Magnolia-licious.

I got the idea for the sketch and the inside from Lena Katrine, a cardmaker from Norway that I really admire. I love the way she decorates the insides of her cards in the same theme as the front. So I thought I'd try my hand at that. Hope you don't mind the bit of casing, Lena!

Lena Katrine also signs the back of her cards in a really nice way, so I'm giving that a try as well!

Another Christmas Magnolia Card!

Hello everyone! How is your weekend before Thanksgiving?! I hope you're getting time to stamp or do whatever you enjoy this time of year! I made this Magnolia easel card according to The Sweet Stop sketch this week. The challenge also includes decorating the inside of your card.

I've been working more on my coloring, and bought a few more E's--E02 and E04 to be exact. One of my blog friends suggested making more shadow under Tilda's hairline. It seems to work really well, once I got used to the darker look of it.

I tried another one of those hat pins. I'd like to try more--I saw one with a mini charm hanging from the top, cute! I will have to look for some charms small enough.

Here is the inside of my easel card. I had not made one for awhile--I really enjoy making them!

Good morning! I have made a card for the NEW MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS CHALLENGE BLOG! Their challenge this time is for Pink and Yellow. This is a birthday card for my DMIL.

I've been working on my shading with my Copics. Using three together make a real difference. . .now to get three of every color. . . :-)

I also tried my hand at making one of those beaded stick pins. It was really fun, and I'll be trying more soon!

A Card with Lavender and Lace!

Hello everyone! This week at the Shabby Tea Room, they have a really special challenge--to use lavender and lace. They have a really beautiful photo as inspiration. I just got a new Tilda from Donalda (she's selling some of her stamps, see here) and I thought this Tilda would be perfect in a lavender dress and socks. And actually, it turned out to be a Christmas card! I really enjoyed making this card--thank you for the inspiration, Shabby Tea Room!

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend! It was raining and cold this morning, but by about 2pm the sun came out. Just in time for me and my little boy to do a bit of shopping at Hobby Lobby! There were scads of people in there, but we had fun and we found some cute things, like the angel charm beside my bow. I also found the jewelry section, which has tons of charms, wow! I didn't even think to look there for them. I originally was looking for some beads to make those beaded stick pins so many people have on their cards. And of course, I had to wander, and I found the beads and all sorts of cool stuff in their jewelry section.

Here's a close up of this cutie! He seemed perfect to put on a recipe card! I also thought I could make gift tags for Christmas cookies with this image, or maybe a tag or label for one of those "cookie mix in a jar" gift thingys. Anyway you use it, he'll be adorable!

Happy Fall Ya'll! Who doesn't need a "thank you for being a friend" card any time of the year? I really love this little boy with the flower from Bugaboo Stamps!

There are so many fall challenges out there, and I really love making fall cards. Why do we skip to Christmas right after Halloween? My kids told me the other day that Thanksgiving is their favorite holiday--can you believe that?! Sooo, I thought I'd "do up" fall and Thanksgiving around my house for a little while longer!

I have enjoyed working with Bugaboo Stamps for the last few months, and really love Jodie's characters and designs. My favorites are the Bugaboo Brats, but I really like them all. Yep. . .Another Halloween Card!

Happy Day Before Halloween! Mwha ha ha ha haaaaa! (That's what I said to my little boy this morning, it got a pretty big laugh!)

This is another one of my new Bugaboo digi stamps, and he is so dad gum fun to color!

I popped these little stripy ghost squares, but they are a little hard to see. I lose the natural light too early these days! :-)

Well, preparations for Halloween are well underway at my house. It has officially started--we've broken out the mellowcreme pumpkins!
