Fall Card for OWH--Card Party!

Hello everyone! A quick post to enter another card for Operation Write Home! I'm having a weekend card-making-athon party, kind of like I did a couple of weekends ago. My goal is to make 30 cards for OWH before September 30th, and so. . .let's just say I'd better get a move-on!

These pumpkins are from the Whiff of Joy Fall Set from last year, and the patterned paper is from a stack that I picked up at Michael's the last time I was in Little Rock. I think it is My Mind's Eye.

There are so many challenges supporting OWH this week--I don't know if I'll be able to enter them all! :-) Having that many is a good problem to have, though! Thank you for supporting this awesome organization!

I made this card just because--I also am enjoying my fall papers. It is still 90 degrees here in Jonesboro, but it is fun to "play" like we're having fall. :-)

Sparkle Creations--fall card
Charisma Cardz--anything goes
Digi Doodle Shop's Best--embossing

A OWH Christmas Card!

Hello! I made this card for Operation Write Home--time to start working on Christmas cards for them, now that I shipped off the last of my Halloween cards. This is a Whiff of Joy Santa from last year. I used a sketch from a challenge blog called Unscripted Sketches. This is a really nice sketch for OWH cards--I will probably use it again for that purpose. Their challenge is also to do a monochromatic color scheme, which really worked out nicely, since I had a lot of red accumulated somehow!

Challenges Entered:
Unscripted Sketches--sketch and monochromatic
Secret Crafter--Anything goes--some cute manga stamps there!
Paper Romance--birthday or Christmas
Catch the Bug--holiday
2Sisters--Christmas
Cowgirl--not a square card
Corrosive Challenge--use unused craft stuff--I used Prima Flowers and buttons

Thanks for looking and happy stampin'!

My September 11th OWH Card Making Party!

Good morning, everybody! I wanted to share what we did over the weekend with my blog friends. We had a September 11th Operation Write Home Cardmaking Party to participate in OWH's Birthday Bash. Tomorrow, I will be sending over 50 cards to Sandy for our heroes! The party was really fun, and here are some pictures of all of the cards we made.

I originally scheduled the party for Saturday morning, but it turned out that our neighborhood's yearly community yard sale was that morning. So, knowing that no one would be able to get to out house for all of the garage sales goers, I made it a sleepover party. On Friday night, two of 12 YO DD Greta's friends, one of 6 YO DD Sophie's friends and one of my friends came over and worked on cards with me on Friday and on Saturday morning. We had it spread out all over the dining room table.

At 8pm, we Skyped with Sandy, president of Operation Write Home. We "met" Sandy's golden retriever, the OWH mascot, and subject of some super cute digi stamps Sandy has made for OWH. It was really fun talking with Sandy over video phone!

We also watched a few OWH videos, which all the guests really liked.

The undeniable favorite was the Old Spice video!

Last, but not least, I made a couple of angel cards in response to Sandy's "Angel Flight" challenge on her blog. Take a look at Mr. Foster's music video--it is a really nice tribute to these brave men who gave their lives in this accident in the Middle East. Mr. Foster is another person using his creativity to support our nation's heroes. Really something special!

Anyway, a great weekend, thanks for the inspiration, Sandy and Operation Write Home!

Fussy and Fancy DT Challenge #19

Good morning! This week at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge, we have a Christmas colors challenge! It doesn't have to be a Christmas card, just Christmas colors. But I was really wanting to use my Santa stamp from last year's Whiff of Joy Christmas release. So, here he is, in his green suit this time. (I guess his red one is still at the dry cleaners'?)

Won't you join us this fortnight? I'd love to see your Christmas colors! Thanks for looking and happy stampin'!
